cT Elektronik Decoder Firmware

An sich nicht meine Kernaufgabe, da das Auffinden von Firmwareupdates für die Tran Decoder manchmal etwas mühsam ist habe ich den Aufwand getrieben die verschiedenen Decoder Update Dateien zusammen zu stellen. Leider habe ich auch nur sporadisch Info wann es neue Firmwae gibt. Ich weiß auch nicht was die einzelnen Revisionsänderungen sind.

Die cT Elektronik Decoder sind ab SW Version 26-28 Update fähig. Für das nachladen benötigt man das Programmiergerät SoundProg, das auch zum Sound Laden Verwendung findet.

Ab Version 40 der Sounddecoder sollte ein verbessertes CV-List Dokument benutzt werden. Wichtig ist hier CV7=40 und zwar immer auch wenn der Decoder bereits höhere werte zurück liefert. Unbedingt auch die neue Version des Ladeprogramms verwenden, erkennt man am Datum 28.Feb 2007. mein eindruck ist, dass man mit diesem neuen Programm alte Decoder nicht laden kann, daher ev. die alten fillflash aufheben!

cT Elektronik Decoder Firmware

Actually not really my business. As it is sometimes hard to find new decoder firmware for cT Elektronik decoders, I compiled this page with all new files that I'm aware off. I also don't have continuous information when new files get released. Especially I have no idea what was changed and which new features got introduced.

The cT Elektronik decoder are firmware upgradable starting with firmware revision 26-28 depending on the model. To download updated you need the SoundProg programmer.

Starting with version 40 the decoders need a new CV-list where CV7=40. This is required even if the decoder has newer CV7. CV7 is read only so CV7 will not be modified by the programming cycle. There is also a replacement fillflash for the newer decoder firmware. I have the feeling that the new program can not load old decoders so please keep the old fillflash for older firmware decoders!

Software Laden

Um neue Software in Decoder zu laden verwendet man den SoundProg Programmer. Die oben verlinkten BIN Files werden mit einem Ladeprogramm in die Decoder programmiert:

Am besten man fertigt sich eine BAT Prozedur zum Laden der Daten an um Tippfehler zu vermeiden.

jeder Decoder hat ein Checkbyte. Das limitiert den Download zur passenden Decoder Art. Beim Start blinken die Lampen, Sounddecoder machen einen Beep. Nach dem Ende des Download geben die Sounddecoder einen Dauerton von sich, Funktionsausgänge sind eingeschaltet. Abklemmen und an Digitalspannung ausprobieren.

Hinweis: Sounddecoder ab Version 40 brauchen einen neueren SoundLader. Zusätzlich muss in der CV Liste bei CV7=40 eingetragen sein, auch wenn man eigentlich schon Version 51 drinnen hat.

Download Software

New software is downloaded with a utility. The parameters are described below:

updatefl 1 Decodername.bin

the best way to use it is writing a BAT file with the above line. Typos are easier to handle this way.

Each decoder has a check byte. This restricts the download to the specific decoder type. After start the decoder blinks on the light outputs, sound decoder do a beep. After download the sound decoder makes a noise and function outputs are turned on. You need to interrupt power and change over to digital power supply.

Hint: sound decoder starting with version 40 need a newer sound loader program. Additionally the entry for CV7=40 is required. Even if you have firmware version 51!
